Product Description

Why risk damaging your valuable camera body when there is a simple solution that offers so many mounting options? The F55, F5 top plate mounts to the four existing 1/4-20 holes on the Sony F5 & 55 camera body, giving you all the 1/4-20 and 3/8-16 tapped mounting holes you will likely ever need. The included EVF cable support provides protection for your camera. This plate allows easy access to all of the camera control buttons and includes a viewfinder cable strain protector. Adding top mounted iris rods at 85 mm is possible with the addition of our Ultralight Rail Block. Mounting holes and screws are provided to allow the use of the factory Sony top handle. The plate is hard anodized for long term durability. Comes with all fasteners needed and a screwdriver for removing your factory Sony handle.

    If you own an F55 or F5, this plate will allow for a much cleaner setup. From the factory this camera only has 1/4 and 3/8 mounting points on the handle. But you need the handle to be clear- either so you can pick the camera up, or mount an eye hook for an Easy Rig. BUT you also must use the factory handle because it has the mounting wedge for the Sony EVF.

    The Berkey System top plate allows you to mount your on-board monitor, wireless video transmitter and focus motor controller, leaving the Sony handle free. Also - the screws Sony provides with their handle are very, very small and easy to strip. The ones provided with the Berkey plate feel far more capable of handling the kind of weight that we put on the camera when there are many accessories and zoom lenses mounted. My plate came with an awesome Wiha driver which I will use for years to come.

    Brian Berkey also is a great person, in my situation he got the order out the door even though I was a bit late and a bit disorganized. Highly recommend this company.

    Absolutely recommend this plate to anyone with a F5/55.
    Tons of options to mount accessories.
    A big bonus is the viewfinder cable protector, on the F5/55 cameras, the connector is very vulnerable.

    On a side note, Brian Berkey is unbelievably helpful should you have any special needs or requirements for your setup. Double thumbs up on quality and to Brian for all his help!

    Thank you for a great top plate solution for my F5. I am very impressed by the quality and finish. Also the addition of the philips head screw driver in the kit for the Sony handle, well done !
